CLUB de RUGBY ATL. PORTUENSE o PORTU VETS

 It’s more than 38 years ago in the deep south of southern Spain. Rugby in this region is something that maybe just a few university students have heard about, but two “sick” guys from El Puerto de Santa Maria create the “Club de Rugby Atletico Portuense”…  Since that glory moment, our club has been giving some colour to most of the Rugby pitches of our country and nowadays is leading the second national category.
El Puerto de Santa Maria is an 80.000 inhabitant’s coastal town in Andalusia, famous for its wine (Sherry) cellars, its gastronomy and its beaches and it’s a very popular place, receiving more than 200.000 tourists every summer.

We are really proud about our own Club House (full time opened) and we have at least one team on each and every category (Childs of all ages, women, Veterans…), playing rugby every season.

 Veterans were created in 1992 with fun as the main propose and objective. Since that moment we have been travelling and meeting people in some events and tournaments like Evora (Portugal), Madrid, Sevilla, Málaga or Granada in Spain... and we have received the visit of some distinguished friends coming from England, France or Morocco.

We also organize our own annual Veterans tournament, developing since 2005, which is well known and repute in the national veterans scene.
